Every year we invest heavily both in time and money in ensuring our factory passes the SEDEX <\/a>and SMETA<\/a> audits along with\u00a0many others.\u00a0This is to make sure all our products are produced under strict ethical conditions, this is something we are very proud of, but the intention is to give all of our customers the confidence that our products, are both high quality and most\u00a0importantly, made ethically. Unfortunately, child labour is a massive issue in certain factories in Kolkata and no business would wish to be associated with this. There are only two factories in Kolkata who have been able to meet such strict criteria.<\/p>\n

When working alongside us at GoJute,\u00a0we hope you appreciate, that we are transparent and can show the full process of the growing and harvesting of the Jute, along with weaving, producing the jute fabric, dying, printing, stitching and packing of our jute and cotton bags.<\/p>\n

When dealing direct with a factory. you will need to pay 100% upfront, probable terms would be 30% on order and the remainder when the container is shipped. This is a\u00a0huge risk as we have had customers who didn’t even receive their container or when the container finally arrived (on one occasion the container turned up nine months after paying for the goods) the bags have a musty smell or\u00a0have\u00a0been printed incorrectly and then the problems will really begin…<\/p>\n

The\u00a0intention of this blog piece is not to appear to be a scaremonger, but simply to make our customers very aware of the what we do, and are extremely experienced in. We have seen and heard of this happening to so many people and that it\u2019s very worrying, hence the reason why we have invested\u00a0to make sure our complete supply chain is full audited.<\/p>\n
