On 1st June 2016, with the support of the community, the school became an academy as part of the Peninsula Learning Trust along with Penrice Academy, Carclaze, Fowey, Lostwithiel, Luxulyan, Mevagissey and St. Mewan.

The school joined the Trust in order to collaborate closely with other schools, whilst continuing to build on the values and ethos that contribute to them as being a popular and successful school.

To commemorate the transition from school to academy, branded book bags were produced for each pupil in the school brand colours and design.

Not only are these bags ideal for promoting the school, they also help parents organise their kids school documents in lovely eco-friendly carriers.
