FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends (we know that’s annoying – sorry).

We can print your logo/design onto one of the many bag styles stored in our UK-based warehouse.

Once screen printed by our expert team, they could be on their way to you in less than a week. These can cost as little as £1 per bag.

The prices generally fall per unit the more items you order.

If you want a large order of over 2,000, it would be cost effective to opt for overseas printing, where costs are even lower per bag. This option also gives you much more flexibility in the design, customisation and style of your bag.

Still want an exact figure? The best thing to do is contact us and we can provide a quote based on your specific project.

This is one of the most common questions we get asked but it depends on lots of different factors.

For a quick turnaround, we can print onto bags in our UK printing facility and despatch within days of your order.

If you are looking for a fully bespoke bag, all manufacturing and printing is carried out in our overseas SEDEX-audited factory, with a lead time of around 12 weeks.

Jute is a material that comes from the hessian family. Both are natural fibres and can be used to make multiple products. Jute has long, soft vegetable fibres which are spun to make strong coarse threads. Jute can also be called burlap. Jute bags are tightly woven and firmly sewn to reinforce their structure to allow them to be free-standing usually with a strong rectangular base.

Juco is a combination fabric made by weaving cotton (70%) and jute (30%) together. It gives a smoother more refined finish and allows finer detail to be printed, with brighter colours and a more premium bag overall.

Juco can be manufactured into many products and an infinite variety of shapes and sizes.

Our cotton bags are made from pure cotton. Our standard stock is a premium 5oz cotton. We can also offer organic cotton, Fair Trade cotton and heavier weights for an even longer-lasting, premium product.

If you need a lighter bag, we can do that too!

We print our jute, juco and cotton bags using a popular technique called screen printing. Your artwork is created as a negative ready for the screen and using water-based dyes it is then pressed onto the jute.

In some cases, we use other techniques depending entirely on the customer’s needs.

Jute is a plant. No fertilizers or pesticides are used in the growing of jute making it environmentally friendly.

After the plant is harvested, it is soaked, before the golden fibres are washed and spun into bundles.

The fibres are dried and treated with rice oil for added strength and is then woven onto the loom ready for weaving into sturdy jute rolls.

We can provide detailed guidelines for your designer or we can work with you to produce your chosen design.

Artwork needs to be as high resolution as possible (300dpi minimum) and for best results in vector-based format.

File formats are usually best provided in the following:
– Vector Image (Adobe eps, pdf or illustrator)
– Bitmap Image (Adobe photoshop, tif, jpg, png)

If you’re unsure, give us a call and we can assist you.

Due to the nature of the material (open weave fabric), big bold designs work best on jute.

For finer detail, we recommend choosing a cotton or juco bag, which is tighter weave and therefore better able to represent intricate details.

Yes of course – whether you provide your own artwork or we work with you on your design, we can produce visuals so you can see how your finished bags will look.

It depends. Bags which are printed in the UK have a rectangular print area in the centre of the main panel.

There are no limitations on bags printed in our overseas SEDEX-audited factory as panels are printed prior to stitching. You can also customise handles and side panels.

Yes – jute is completely natural and biodegradeable. We can add a soil neutral cornstarch lining for extra durability that is still environmentally friendly.

Yes – jute is 100% biodegradable and recyclable. Jute plants absorb 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide and release 11 tonnes of oxygen over their six-month lifespan and they are grown with no pesticides or fertilisers.
