Fittleworth Stores is a community-owned and operated shop, café, and post office nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park.
Back in the 1950s, the village of Fittleworth was home to several thriving shops and businesses. However, after the closure of the village grocery store and post office, the community was left without a local shop. Determined to bring this essential service back, residents came together in 2016 to establish a new community shop. Through a combination of grants, donations, fundraising events, and the sale of £25 shares to local supporters, their vision became a reality. Thanks to a generous donation from a local estate, they secured an eco-friendly, purpose-built shop and café, which officially opened its doors just two and a half years later.

With support from our team, Fittleworth Stores chose the GJ014 Large Natural Jute Bag, a durable and stylish option that resonated with their commitment to sustainability. Due to its success, they then later introduced the GJCOTT 5oz Cotton Bag, providing customers with a lightweight alternative, leaving Ragdale saying they were ‘great as always’.
Both the jute and cotton bags offer premium comfort and durability, featuring a minimalist design with a bold, eye-catching print that perfectly aligns with the shop’s community-focused ethos.
