Peter's Yard
Peter Ljungquist, a Swedish baker passionate about traditional baking methods, wanted to revive sourdough techniques and move away from commercial yeast. He opened a small bakery in the Swedish countryside, where he baked with natural ingredients and created exceptional crispbread (knäckebröd).
Meanwhile, English friends Ian and Wendy, who had left their corporate jobs, were inspired to introduce a Swedish-inspired bakery to the UK. After hearing about Peter, they visited his bakery and were captivated by his products. They saw great potential in his crispbread and wanted to bring it to a wider audience. Together, they launched Peter’s Yard, a brand inspired by Peter’s baking and the idyllic Swedish countryside.
The brand quickly gained recognition, won awards, and expanded. As demand grew, they moved production to the UK, staying true to Peter’s original recipes and sustainable practices.
As their brand continued to grow, they decided to increase their brand presence by offering high-quality, eco-friendly packaging options.
