For more than two decades, The Great Cornish Food Store has been at the heart of Cornwall’s food and drink scene, celebrating local producers and tackling the challenges faced by those who bring fresh, quality food to our tables every day. Since opening in 2016, the store has made its mark as the world’s first independent food hall selling entirely local Cornish produce, located alongside a major supermarket. It’s a bold concept built on community spirit, sustainability, and pride in local craftsmanship — values that align perfectly with GoJute’s own.
When the Great Cornish Food Store looked for high-quality, reusable bags that would reflect its dedication to sustainability and authenticity, GoJute was delighted to collaborate. Together, we created a collection of premium, eco-friendly bags designed to complement the store’s ethos while providing customers with durable and stylish ways to carry their Cornish produce home.
The range includes the GJCANV8 soft and practical 8oz cotton canvas bag, sized at 38cm by 42cm, with long over-the-shoulder handles for comfort. Its simplicity and natural finish make it perfect for everyday shopping and reflect the honest, artisanal feel of the store. For heavier loads, we produced the GJ019 Large Landscape Jute Bag, measuring 46cm wide by 32cm high with an 18cm depth. This premium design features quality lined jute fabric with a fine 14/15 weave and luxury padded handles made from soft cotton. Finished in sleek black, the GJ019 combines strength and sophistication while supporting the store’s commitment to reusability and environmental responsibility.
To ensure even fresh and chilled products could be transported sustainably, we developed a 12-oz cotton canvas cool bag. Featuring long shoulder handles, a spacious 47cm by 40cm by 15cm size, and an aluminium foil lining, it keeps contents cool while maintaining a clean, natural aesthetic. Each bag in the collection serves a specific purpose while carrying a shared message — that great design and sustainability can go hand in hand.
