St Mewan Sinfonia
St Mewan Sinfonia, Cornwall’s premier string orchestra, commissioned GoJute to produce a bespoke branded bag for promotional use at their concerts and events. GoJute supplied the GJ030 Standard Portrait Jute Bag in natural fabric with a green print, featuring quality lined jute with a fine 14/15 weave and luxury padded handles made from soft cotton. With generous dimensions of 35cm wide, 40cm high, and 15cm deep, the bag provided both practicality and elegance, aligning with the orchestra’s artistic and environmental values.
Originally formed as a string quartet in the 1970s, St Mewan Sinfonia developed into a full string orchestra by 1974, taking its name from its first rehearsal venue, St Mewan Church Hall. Over the decades, the orchestra has grown in both size and stature. Today, it rehearses throughout the year—excluding school holidays—and presents a wide-ranging classical repertoire, from Baroque to contemporary works. Their concerts often feature guest soloists, and the orchestra has premiered several new compositions, including four world premieres in a single recent performance. These concerts are not only enjoyed by the local community but also raise funds for charitable causes.
The bags produced by GoJute were very well received by the client, who commented that they were “great” and perfectly suited for promotional use. This project highlights GoJute’s ability to deliver sustainable, high-quality branded products that support the visibility and impact of community-driven cultural organisations.
