Only 9% of plastic waste is recycled worldwide, 12% is incinerated and the remaining 79% is sent to landfill or the ocean.

What is plastic free July?

The concept started in Western Australia in 2011 and has now become a global movement. It encourages people for one month to choose alternatives to single-use plastics in the hope to continue this after the month and make these permanent changes.
